 Background

Founded in 1997, Ares aims at pursuing opportunities in leveraged loans and high yield bonds. In 2002, Ares became an independent firm. Ares is made up of three different platforms: (1) Capital Markets Group, (2) Private Equity Group (ACOF), and 3) Private Debt Group. As of 2008 Ares has $27 billion committed capital under management.
